none…..haven’t watched the news lately have you……tourists are being killed, robbed and abducted in Mexico…..Canada has warning out for travellers not to go to Mexico……hope I didn’t ruin your day….

Cancun is nice, but we loved Cozumel…it’s affordable, beautiful, and lots to do there. Puerto Vallarta was nice, haven’t been to Cabo though…yet. But, my opion would be Cozumel. You could do research on the internet at hotel prices, flights, and what there is to do in those places and choose from that. Best of luck and have an awesome time!!!

I’ve only been to Puerto Vallarta, but it was great. I stayed at an all-inclusive (Paradise Village), but did wander off the resort for some tourist shopping and a whale-watching boat trip and a donkey ride. There is probably plenty to do at any of those locations–they are set up for tourists. (You can drink the water at PV, if that helps make up your mind.)

It really depends on what you are looking for. Cabo and Cancun are more expensive than PV. Cancun has the best beach. Nightlife is good in all three. Cancun more for the younger, spring break crowd. PV has the best “Old Town” area with authentic Mexican hotels and shopping. All three have plenty to do.

I would avoid Acapulco because of the crime.

All three you mentioned have plenty of English speaking people. If you go to PV, the north end of town has the resorts with mostly American type amenities, but downtown is authentic Mexican. All three will take American dollars but I only use Pesos because it takes the guesswork out of figuring the change.

The weather in all three is perfect. Cabo is more of a desert area and PV has tropical jungles very near town with a lot of palm trees.

You can’t really go wrong with any of these three. If money is no object, go to Cabo. If you are quite young, try Cancun. If you want a more authentic Mexican trip then head to the downtown part of PV.

I would pick PV out of those choices. Reason being, in my opinion, Cabo and Cancun are so americanized that you may as well be in Miami.

Puerto Vallarta is best if you want to experience authentic Mexico. It is getting far too “Americanized”, but it still has charm. I think the reason is that it was a town and viable community BEFORE tourists discovered it. Cancun and Cabo have been built FOR tourists and have had to import waiters, etc. from larger cities in Mexico, and they don’t have the authentic Mexican feel that PV has, IMO.

I work in the travel industry and have been to all three so I can honestly say that they are all fabulous. However, there are very distinct differences between them. Cabo is gorgeous but VERY expensive and appeals more to individuals from the west coast. The food and the nightlife is great but the beaches are not swimable due to the current. If you are serious about sports fishing then you should consider it. Puerto Vallarta is absolutely beautiful. Its very old-world Mexico. There is lots of history and a ton of things to do like jungle tours and fishing then its perfect. Puerto Vallarta and Cabo are both more adult oriented locations. Yes, children are welcome in most places but these destinations are better suited for people over 18. In Cabo I’d recommend the Riu Cabo San Lucas or Dreams Los Cabos. For Puerto Vallarta, either Dreams Puerto Vallarta, the Marival Resort or the Palladium Vallarta.

Now, as for Cancun/ Riviera Maya you have more options. The beaches are exquisite and there are just as many adventure seeking activities available. But then again it depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for a romantic get-away, stay at Secrets Capri. Or, if you just want a great vacation, the Iberostars and the Palladiums are fabulous. When staying in Cancun (city) I would recommend Dreams Cancun.

All resorts are all-inclusive. However, Riviera Maya/ Cancun offers the most flexibility as far as price is concerned.
